4th June 2021 – EkkoSense, the provider of next generation data center software optimization solutions, has appointed Syed Akhtar – a proven data center solutions sales director – to head up the company’s EMEA sales operations.
Syed joins EkkoSense from one of the world’s leading DCIM software vendors, where he was the Sales Director of EMEA and Turkey for over four years. Before that, Syed was Sales Manager/Director MEA region for FNT – the German DCIM company. Syed will play a key role in helping to drive the next key phase of EkkoSense’s growth, building on the success of key contracts with organizations such as O2 where EkkoSense is already on track to deliver energy savings equivalent to one million kilograms of CO2 year on year.
“I’ve spent the last ten years driving sales of software solutions that help organizations to plan, manage and optimize their data center performance – but there’s always been something missing until now. With its powerful software, EkkoSense offers the key differentiator that data center operations teams have been asking for: what’s actually happening across their critical facilities in real-time. Unlike traditional DCIM tools and CFD approaches, EkkoSense delivers not only the real-time insights into performance, but also clear recommendations detailing how teams can reduce thermal risk, release stranded capacity and save cooling energy,” commented Syed Akhtar on his appointment.
“Data center managers really need this level of informed insight if they are to meet today’s increasingly complex workload and efficiency demands. I’m delighted to be joining the EkkoSense team at this key stage in its development, and look forward to bringing what I see as the data center optimization sector’s best kept secret to an even broader audience,” he added.
With EkkoSense’s software in place, data center teams are able to visualize and analyze space, power and cooling performance in real-time. It is easy for operations staff to use and understand, helping them to visualize airflow management improvements, manage complex capacity requirements, quickly identify any worrying trends in cooling performance and remove risk from their data centers.
Syed will report directly to EkkoSense’s CEO and co-founder Dean Boyle, and his appointment as part of a major investment in the company’s direct and partner sales channels. According to Dean: “Syed brings in-depth sales leadership experience to EkkoSense, with a specific focus on data center performance optimization over the last ten years with leading DCIM and data centre solutions vendors where he has been particularly successful. Syed will be instrumental in driving EkkoSense sales across the EMEA region, and we’re delighted that he’s joining the EkkoSense team.”
The announcement follows the appointment of Michael Yong as EkkoSense Director of Sales for the APAC region in April of this year, with a further appointment for a lead Americas sales role later in 2021.
