28th June 2021 – EkkoSense, the provider of next
generation data center software optimization solutions, has appointed Tracy Collins as
Vice President of Sales, Americas. He will be responsible for growing sales of
EkkoSense’s innovative EkkoSoft Critical M&E optimization and capacity
management solution across the region through all channels.
Tracy brings 25 years’ data center sales and sales leadership experience to EkkoSense, having previously served as Vice President of IT Solutions Sales for Vertiv – the global provider of data center infrastructure and continuity solutions. He joins EkkoSense after spending two years as CEO of Huntsville, AL-based Simple Helix – a leading Tier III data center operator and provider of data center, cloud and managed IT & security services.
At Vertiv Tracy led a North American sales organization that generated hundreds of millions in revenue annually through sales of the company’s critical infrastructure IT solutions portfolio, including DCIM software solutions, into data center, colocation and distributed edge sites. Prior to that, he served as Director of Global Channel Sales and Marketing for Emerson Network Power before it was spun off to form Vertiv in 2017.
“EkkoSense enables true real-time M&E capacity planning for power, cooling and space, providing the critical missing ingredient that more expensive and complex DCIM solutions fail to deliver. It’s an exciting proposition, and one that I know can solve the optimization challenge of increased data center workloads while also delivering against corporate energy savings targets,” commented Tracy. “I’m delighted to be joining EkkoSense at this important stage in the company’s development.
“With its ability to unlock average data center cooling energy savings of up to 30%, EkkoSense’s EkkoSoft Critical optimization software is a compelling solution for data center operators,” he continued. “However, equally important is the software’s ability to help data center operations staff visualize airflow management improvements, manage complex capacity requirements, and remove risk by quickly identifying any worrying trends in their data centers’ cooling performance.”
Tracy will report directly to EkkoSense’s CEO and co-founder Dean Boyle, and his appointment is a key part of the company’s major investment in both its direct and partner sales channels. Commenting, Dean said: “Tracy brings both business leadership and a proven track record of sales success to EkkoSense. His experience growing a business in our space, coupled with a deep understanding of the data center optimization sector makes him a great fit for EkkoSense. We look forward to him establishing a strong presence in the US marketplace, and are confident that he will help establish our software-based optimization approach as a smart choice for organizations across North America.”
The announcement follows the recent appointments of Michael Yong as EkkoSense Director of Sales for the APAC region in April this year and Syed Akhtar taking on the role of EMEA Director of Sales earlier this month.
EkkoSense delivers an average 30% data centre cooling energy saving, significantly reducing cooling equipment capex investment requirements and delivering a quantifiable carbon usage reduction to help data centers contribute towards corporate net zero commitments.
The EkkoSense solution provides an attractive business case for midsize, enterprise, and larger hyperscale data centres as it enables true real-time M&E Capacity Planning for power, cooling and space – at a fraction of the cost of more expensive and complex DCIM solutions. Interest in the software is growing internationally.
