EkkoSoft Critical 9.2 brings new levels of control with Item Level Alerting

EkkoSense has made data center alerting even easier with Item Level Alerting. With  EkkoSoft Critical 9.2, EkkoSense extends alarm alert capabilities to offer Item Level Alerting for critical cooling and power assets. This unlocks new levels of control for data center operations teams.

EkkoSense’s EkkoSoft Critical 3D visualization and AI analytics software unlocks the data center power, capacity management, and cooling intelligence needed to run enterprise estates more efficiently. The software is quick-to-deploy, and is an effective solution for all sizes of operators. From hyperscale and colocation service providers through to enterprises in key markets such as financial services and telco. 
 
The new EkkoSense release enables operations teams to add to and manage their own Item Level Alerting via a new Viewer mode sidebar. This means they can now create data center alerts on any cooling and power datapoint available within EkkoSoft Critical, tailor alerts to specific equipment, and mute alerts they don’t need.

“With our new Item Level Alerts, data center operations teams can focus in on selected IT racks, cooling or power equipment. This provides relevant alerts rather than more general room level warnings. We know false data center alerting can be frustrating. That’s why EkkoSoft Critical now lets you fine-tune your settings with Item Level Alerts,” explained EkkoSense’s Chief Product Officer, Paul Milburn. 
 
“For instance, if certain racks naturally run warmer than others, simply adjust their temperature thresholds to match reality. You’ll only get data center alerts when something truly needs your attention. It’s also really easy to keep track of all your different alerts. There is a settings tab for room level alerts, and custom tabs that show all item level alerts for that room,” he continued. 
 
In addition to Item Level Alerting, other key new features introduced as part of the EkkoSoft Critical 9.2 release include: 

Priority Assets and Equipment Connectivity

EkkoSense has enhanced how users track equipment connectivity, with four clear priority levels: High, Medium, Low, and Temporarily Offline. Mark your most critical cooling and power assets as high priority, and you’ll know immediately if they go offline. Operations team members can check their EkkoSoft Critical Estate Page to see these priorities at a glance. Alternatively, they can visit the new Item Connectivity page for detailed power device status. 

Easier Rack Capacity Management

 
Managing your racks just got simpler for EkkoSoft Critical data center monitoring solution users. A new Manage Racks feature lets them view all their rack configurations in one place. Need to make changes? Simply download the data to Excel, edit what you need, and upload it back—it’s that easy. A refreshed Site Power Capacity view also makes power data clearer. Adding a commissioning date feature keeps capacity calculations accurate, even when dates change. Plus, there’s now a Refresh button so you can see updates instantly. 

Air & Liquid Temperature Control Visuals

As a result of more and more data centers moving to hybrid liquid and air-cooling solutions, it can become challenging managing which units are operating effectively where various cooling technologies and setpoints are in operation. Accordingly, EkkoSoft Critical 9.2 now features a new 3D view to make identifying the performance of hybrid air and liquid cooling units much easier. This can now be set as your default view. 

Other improvements for the EkkoSoft Critical data center monitoring solution

In addition to Item Level Alerts, EkkoSoft Critical 9.2 also includes a number of further improvements to enhance the user experience. Updated humidity filter bands align with the latest ASHRAE standards. A new operational toggle for cooling units makes them easier to manage, while the software’s Estate page now displays up to 25 sites for better visibility.
