EkkoSense adds powerful thermal alerting to its AI-powered data center optimization software
New thermal alerts functionality equips data center operations teams with the granularity and reporting flexibility needed to help highlight potential critical infrastructure failures before they materialize
EkkoSense, a global leader in the provision of AI-powered data center optimization software, has further strengthened its EkkoSoft Critical SaaS 3D visualization and analytics SaaS offering with the addition of comprehensive 3-tier thermal alerting. EkkoSoft Critical Alerting can be configured for data centers of all sizes, from the largest hyperscaler infrastructure sites through to Edge facilities.
EkkoSoft Critical supports unrivalled levels of IoT sensing, bringing an entirely new class of accuracy and granularity to data center operations. The software observes changes in the data center environment in real-time – often highlighting potential thermal failures before they materialize and are picked up by traditional BMS systems. The introduction of powerful Alerting capabilities will ensure that the right people receive the right alert notifications, reminders and daily status updates – allowing data center operations teams to make informed decisions on how to resolve issues.
Alert notifications are processed and communicated by EkkoSoft Critical within five minutes. Alert reminders generate emails every 30 minutes in the first three hours of an alert condition, while all active alerts are presented in a daily Alert Status report that is produced for each site across an estate. For more immediate alerting requirements, EkkoSoft Critical Alerting also supports integration with existing BMS systems via SNMPtraps.
“Given the sheer scale of change currently faced by today’s data centers – from the introduction of AI compute workloads and the accelerated adoption of liquid and hybrid cooling approaches to increased pressure to deliver on ESG and sustainability demands – there’s never been a greater requirement for absolute real-time white space visibility,” commented Paul Milburn, EkkoSense’s Chief Product Officer. “With our new Alerting capability, we’re changing the dial in terms of critical data center infrastructure alerting, giving operations teams the early insights they need into potentially critical issues. We’re also equipping data center teams with the ability to cover off some of the dark Edge sites that don’t have local BMS support or engineer presence.”
EkkoSoft Critical Alerting allows operations teams to configure high, low and warning threshold alerting for thermal monitoring of hot/cold aisles, relative humidity, battery temperatures, AHU return/supply and voltage. Selected alarms & faults can also generate alerts on all cooling and power equipment, while specific alert rules can be assigned to different operational teams to ensure notifications are focused on appropriate users.
EkkoSoft Critical 3D visualization and analytics software enables data center operations teams and co-location providers to remove thermal and power risk, minimize cooling energy usage and costs, and support ESG programs through quantifiable carbon savings. Customers see results in just weeks, with project ROI timescales of under 12 months in many regions.
