Data Centre Job Summary – DCIM/ BMS/ Systems Engineer 

We are looking for an experienced, electrically qualified, BMS/Power Systems Designer to join our rapidly growing team.

You will play a leading role in DCIM & BMS design activities, managing external consultants and contractors to meet project deadlines, costs, and delivery of the projects. 

You will review and approve the DCIM architecture and design in-house ensuring that it is aligned with the Ekkosense standards. 

Essential Skills/Experience 

· 5+ years’ experience working in Data Centre / mission critical environments 

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environments with excellent time management skills to meet project deadlines 

· Ensuring our data centre monitoring systems are effectively and efficiently designed to protect the data centre, capture power usage, calculate available capacity, and provide meaningful, timely alarms, notifications, and reports to end users 

· Ability to configure systems applications to support new data centre deployments and data centre retrofits 

· You will play a leading role in the delivery of the BMS design, managing external engineering consultants and contractors to meet programme, design and other requirements for the successful delivery of the project and to achieve cost effective and resilient infrastructures 

· Working closely with customers to understand their DCIM requirements from pre-sale (tender process) to end delivery and handover of the system. 

· Extensive experience in a mission-critical industry 

· In-depth design experience of DCIM systems (BMS, security, IT) and the working application of these systems. 

· Working knowledge of various BMS and EPMS inc, Tridium, Schneider, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Hitachi 

· Experience with BAC-net, Modbus, TCP/IP configuration, SNMP communication protocols, and of API and MQTT power integration 

· Ability to manage several customer projects at any one time, working with a skilled team of technical and delivery staff, including sub-contractors 

· Excellent problem-solving techniques, both onsite and for remote applications. 

· Willingness to spend time at customer sites, UK and non-UK 

· Excellent written and verbal skills and able to effectively communicate with customers, Directors, and colleagues, including good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint 

· Awareness of health and safety skills relevant to the critical environments the business operates in . 

Desirable Skills/Experience 

· Knowledge of Data Scientist and working experience with Niagara, FNT, JSON, and OBIX 

· Knowledge of ASHRAE Testing and Commissioning Levels and Commissioning Planning of mission critical systems 

· Some knowledge in cooling technologies (HVAC, free air, DX, chilled water, airflows etc.) 

· Knowledge of monitoring hardware, sensors and systems used to manage critical environments
