EkkoSense and Virgin Media O2 shortlisted for 2024 DCW Award

EkkoSense and telecoms client shortlisted for data centre efficiency award

The annual Data Centre World Awards shine a spotlight on innovative excellence across a range of categories, and this year EkkoSense is proud to be shortlisted for the prestigious ‘Special Contribution to Improving Energy Efficiency’ Award. We’re one of just two shortlisted finalists!

We have been nominated alongside our telecommunications customer Virgin Media O2 following the success of our project to optimise the cooling performance of 20 of Virgin Media O2’s UK data centre sites. We were able to show significant cooling energy savings, representing a significant £1.45 million annual saving and an average 15% cooling energy reduction across the target sites. Our DCW Award submission was also able to demonstrate an impressive carbon saving in support of Virgin Media O2’s corporate sustainability goals.

Commenting on the nomination, EkkoSense’s Head of Technical Sales – James Kirkwood said: “it’s great to be selected for the DCW 2024 Improving Energy Efficiency Award category, and we’re delighted to be recognised for the significant cooling energy savings that we were able to achieve for Virgin Media O2. The fact that we were able to deliver this across 20 sites in just six months was also a key factor in accelerating the time to savings for our customer.”

The DCW Awards will be presented on March 6th at the Data Centre World exhibition in London. If you’re attending, join us on stand D210 or book a demo of our award winning data centre optimisation proposition here.
