EkkoSense launches world’s first IoT-enabled wireless temperature and humidity sensor for data centres

EkkoSense has launched the world’s first Internet-of-Things (IoT) enabled wireless thermal sensor. The new ultra-low cost sensor disrupts the traditional data centre sensor cost model, enabling it to be deployed in such vast numbers that true real-time thermal management of critical facilities such as data centres now becomes realistic.
Unlike traditional critical cooling approaches, EkkoSense harnesses the potential of the ‘fully-sensed’ data centre to enable entirely new levels of thermal compliance and cooling energy cost reduction, and capacity optimisation. At DCW18 EkkoSense will demonstrate a series of sensor, software and operational innovations that will confirm the company as a leader in the provision of thermal optimisation solutions for critical live environments.
IT, telecoms and cloud services provider Daisy Group has saved over £115,000 of data centre cooling energy costs during the first few months after signing a 5-year data centre thermal optimisation managed service with EkkoSense.
